Objectives

The primary objectives of the project were to develop three series of comic strips, each spanning two pages, accompanied by two interactive games designed to reinforce the concepts introduced in the comic strips. Our aim in creating these educational and engaging resources was to enhance the teaching materials available to our partners over the long term. Additionally, by offering this collection free of charge, we aimed to extend the benefits to other local or international organizations working with individuals in exile, migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. These tools would facilitate their understanding of European concepts, values, and priorities, including respect for civic and democratic values, civic engagement, environmental conservation, and health awareness, as well as the acquisition or enhancement of digital skills. Importantly, they would also raise awareness about the potential risks associated with improper use of digital tools.

Background

The EU-PREPARE project aimed to develop learning tools tailored for individuals facing vulnerable situations, including asylum seekers, recently arrived refugees in Europe, and others marginalized due to challenges in learning the host country's language. These tools stand out for their engaging and user-friendly nature, achieved through the integration of drawings, comic strips, and interactive games. Recognizing the necessity to create resources facilitating access to vital information and knowledge crucial for successful integration, partners identified this need across various contexts. The objective was twofold: addressing the requirements of beneficiaries—individuals navigating social and cultural integration—and fulfilling the needs of trainers, facilitators, and social workers seeking effective tools to introduce essential concepts and knowledge. These tools aimed to cover three central themes of the project: civic and democratic values, health and the environment, and digital transformation.
