We wanted to make our students more attractive and competitive on the European job market. To do this, we set ourselves the following problem: how can we effectively integrate the job market in a world undergoing a dual digital and ecological transition? Our main objective was to improve the skills of young BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) and FP (Formación Profesional) students, so that they become more competent, attractive and competitive. We then identified these needs: To integrate successfully into the European job market, we need to... -know ourselves -maximize our experience and mobility develop our linguistic, cultural and cross-disciplinary skills -know the job market -find the right job for us -be engaged citizens in a world undergoing a dual digital and ecological transition.
We applied for this project because the students we train, whether in France or Spain, are heading for short (2-year post-bac), professional studies. This is the student population with the fewest opportunities for mobility abroad, for a number of reasons: economic, family and academic. We also wanted to bring teaching closer to the professional world that awaits them, and better understand the expectations of professionals so as to meet them as effectively as possible during the young people's training. All this, with a view to making our tools sustainable for teaching colleagues and future students alike. Given the high unemployment rate among young people under the age of 25 (and even more so among those with short studies), this project made perfect sense.
