Objectives

We wanted to upgrade trainees with computer skills and furnish them with equipment at low cost by providing digital courses and a workshop where they could access a computer at low cost with free and open-source software. This aimed to enhance integration into work and society, provide necessary equipment, and enable them to follow online training. We recognized that training in digital skills was not relevant without access to the tools themselves. Additionally, we aimed to promote the sustainable reuse of computer equipment.

Background

As a VET organizations, we are committed to continuously improving its training methods, particularly for VET trainees and adults facing illectronism. Many trainees lack the necessary digital technology and equipment to participate effectively in these new training modalities. Addressing the digital divide involves not only providing equipment but also enhancing the ability to use it. Inequalities are growing as society increasingly demands digital literacy for professional, cultural, and social integration. This lack of digital competence is a considerable disadvantage, particularly for accessing digital training, performing administrative tasks, and utilizing public services, exacerbating the social vulnerability of already fragile populations. Therefore, reducing material inequalities and ensuring ongoing digital education is essential. Our project aims to provide everyone, regardless of age, with access to digital tools and the necessary skills to use them effectively.
