Objectives

The city of Grenoble has been encouraging young people from its cultural social facilities to develop European exchange projects for several years. These projects give them the opportunity to meet European cultures. The axis of intercultural encounter is essential for the experience it brings to young people but also for the culture of peace it promotes. The City also wanted to be at the heart of a similar project. The general objective of this project was to promote the encounter of Otherness and the openness to the world of the participants through the process of co-construction and cooperation. Thus, by offering a cooperative workspace based on the values of respect, equality and mutual enrichment, we wanted to promote the encounter between cultures and the deconstruction of prejudices. The aim is to encourage participants to take a more tolerant view of the world and thus to fight against racism and xenophobia and to defend the values of peace, help and mutual understanding. A total of 10 countries were concerned by this exchange, but 7 were eligible for the KA1/Youth Exchange measure: France, Germany, Lithuania, Tunisia, Austria, Moldova, Armenia. Burkina Faso being ineligible, Palestine. This country was maintained in the project for the interest of intercultural contribution. Unfortunately, the City of Essen (Germany) could not participate because it did not manage to mobilize a group of young people. And the visas of young people from the city of Sfax in Tunisia were refused. For the Grenoble group, 2 participants could not participate. Indeed, one fell ill, the other had an accidentThe participants are groups of young amateur musicians. 28 musicians and 5 accompanists (leaders) were involved in this project, not to mention the Burkinabe musicians. This project is the culmination of a real creative work by young people in musical workshops underpinned by an original work process: new groups of musicians will be formed based on the cultural diversity of the groups. The musicians will be brought within the merged groups (nationalities are mixed) to recompose but also to compose original pieces of music. The creation/rehearsal workshops took place from 06 to 14 July 2022 with the support of an artistic director: Pierre FEUGIER, professional musician. The show took place on July 15 during a free open-air public performance on a Grenoble stage. It was the result of an artistic and cultural exchange between young people, views crossed from one culture to another. Each bringing to the creation a little of himself, his culture and his perception of the culture of the other. Young musicians from the cities of Chisinau (Moldova), Innsbruck [Austria], Kaunas [Lithuania], Ouagadougou/not eligible for measure KA1 [Burkina Faso], Sevan [Armenia], Phoenix (USA /not eligible for measure KA1 met with a group of musicians from Grenoble from 07 to 14 July in residence at La Bobine (professional rehearsal studios), to work together to create a unique and free concert on Saturday, July 16 at the Jardin de Ville. The exchanges took place from 07 to 17 July.
