Objectives

The FSCF and the DJK are organizing a Franco-German exchange that will take place from 15 to 21 August 2022 in Munich, in connection with the European Multisport Championships. A group of 50 people will take part in the exchange, French/German and participants/supervisors combined. This project aims to support young people in their development and empowerment, in order to encourage them to question their voluntary commitment, participation in civic and political life and their place within the European community. The main objective of the exchange is to provide participants with key skills, which will allow them to take charge of their future and assert themselves as active citizens within our society. Indeed, finding one's place in society implies knowing oneself, affirming one's choices and being able to commit oneself to projects that drive us. This project has three main objectives: 1. Encourage young people to develop their skills and abilities through a non-formal learning experience: so that they gain self-confidence, acquire non-formal skills that will be useful to them in their professional and associative life, to help them think for themselves on subjects that interest and concern them 2. Sensitize young people to important social issues and encourage them to be active citizens: get them to reflect on the principles of living together and on project’s building at the service of society, encourage them to take part in decisions that concern them, understand associative responsibilities 3. Promote intercultural dialogue and strengthen the sense of belonging to Europe: involve them in the European project and nurturing European values and the culture of openness In this spirit, different themes will be addressed: - Themes related to living together and social cohesion: inclusion, sustainable development, solidarity, openness to others (here for example, to another culture). These are subjects that intersect with the values of openness and solidarity advocated by our two federations. - Themes related to the way of living one's citizenship (national or European): voluntary commitment and taking of associative responsibilities, participation in political life, use of ICT, European values and the feeling of belonging to Europe, mobility and intercultural dialogue - Themes related to sport – the core business of our federations – and in particular in connection with Olympism, in view of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. With the implementation of this project, the partners wish to: - Give the keys to the participants, allowing them to emancipate themselves and set up collective or individual projects that are important to them - Provide them with skills and abilities that can be valued for their professional future - Show them that they have a voice and that they can be heard and take part in decisions that affect them - Trigger associative vocations and voluntary responsibilities - Integrate them into the European community by showing them all the benefits of cultural dialogue and cooperation between countries. In addition, this exchange is part of a perspective of reciprocity and long-term collaboration. An exchange in the opposite direction will see the light of day in 2024 in Paris. The objective is that this first exchange allows the young participants to imagine the exchange of 2024 (which will be linked to the Olympic and Paralympic Games) to be able to involve them later in the construction and realization of this second project. In line with the philosophy of youth work practice, this project will serve the personal development of the participants, their social integration and encourage active citizenship.
