Objectives

It’s my life” will be an encounter between 20 young adults from four different countries of origin. This exchange aspires to hand the participants new tools and social skills through collective and individual sports and collective life in the centre. The project will allow for its participants to discuss and share their views on various social issues (such as closing oneself off, isolation from others, a lack of self-esteem, feeling disempowered or an absence of hope) affecting many of us today. Such problems can complicate opening oneself towards others and can hinder young adults from playing an active role in society. Our project will also include a focus on sustainable development, whereby workshops in this domain will be followed by moments of reflection on what one has learned. Furthermore, these workshops will be accompanied with time to exchange and explore new ideas, especially those related to the challenges the world is currently facing. Learning a new sport can be an enriching experience, allowing for the acquisition and of rules which permit a team to function effectively. Sports are an excellent way to create a team spirit overcoming individualism. Every participant will benefit from a diverse group rich in cultural heritage and an internationalist spirit in the venue. The enabling of encounters between different peoples is the key objective of our association, fostering mutual understanding and the opening of individuals towards those around them. With our project we want to develop the self-confidence of young adults, their capacity to act in concrete ways, leading to change, learning to cooperate and live together. We want to encourage participants to be autonomous, develop responsibility, to play and active role in society and make themselves heard, to improve social cohesion in our rural area and include those young people who have fewer opportunities in our society.
