Following the pandemic, we wanted to restart the youth exchanges and give young people another opportunity to meet and discover other horizons. We are convinced that by increasing the number of encounters between young people from very different backgrounds, we are promoting the creation of bonds of solidarity, civic participation and openness to the world and to others. This project, entitled ‘Building shared cultures’, was designed to be reciprocal: a welcome in Palestine and a welcome in France, so that each group could experience mobility and discover the environment of the other group. Unfortunately, it was not possible to go to Palestine after 7 October 2023. As part of this project, the young people discussed the themes of fraternity and solidarity. To do this, we used cultural practices (dance, photo/video) as a lever for individual and collective development, but above all as a means of meeting and expressing themselves. The objectives were to - To encourage people to express their experiences and emotions, as part of a process of mutual understanding and care. - Meet other people in their entirety, freeing themselves from prejudice; - Make young people's voices visible through creative work (video, dance); - Examine the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on our societies; - Discovering non-formal education methods; - Develop links between the town of Allonnes and the Askar refugee camp.
