Objectives

With almost 860,000 inhabitants (INSEE data at January 1, 2020), Réunion remains the most densely populated of the French overseas departments and territories, and the 3rd youngest region in France: 175,000 Réunionese are aged 15 to 29, i.e. 21% of the population, compared with the national average of 18%. Nevertheless, the economic and social difficulties faced by young people remain a strong feature of our region. Precariousness is therefore on the increase among our clientele. Nevertheless, Mission Locale Sud is committed to helping young people in difficulty, whether in social, economic or cultural terms. The inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities remains at the heart of our action. Contributing to young people's "power to act" by enabling them to play an active role in their social and professional integration via this KA153 youth exchange project is an effective response to the needs of our young people. This youth exchange project, entitled "OurDiversitiesUnitEUs", was carried out in partnership with the Asociacion Juvenil Inter organization located in Spain (Andalusia) and the Let's Rock - The Voice of Youth partner from the Netherlands located in Saint-Martin. The main theme of this exchange was the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. Our organizations have identified a number of common characteristics among the young people we support. a lack of self-confidence, a negative perception of international mobility, a dormant desire to learn and undertake, and finally, a vision of interculturality that remains very limited. The objectives of this youth exchange were to : - Develop the skills of young people, particularly the most vulnerable; - Promote participation, commitment and citizenship in Europe - Encourage intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity - Open up to multilingualism and language learning
