The impact of the COVID pandemic has had a negative influence on people's mental well-being, particularly that of youth. There are five main factors that influence mental well-being: physical activity, financial stability, career opportunities, social interactions and sense of community. The pandemic and its aftermath have had a negative impact on all of these areas of life: many businesses have had to close, many people have lost their jobs, prices have gone up, and this has affected people's financial stability and career prospects. All these frustrations can push young people to radical ideas and behaviors and unity, tolerance and inclusion in the EU suffer. In order to promote and maintain a constructive society in which difference is accepted, we have identified the need to reconcile people by creating a safe space for debate and organizing activities that positively influence everyone's well-being using a performing arts tradition: street performance. The outdoor space of our cities is accessible to all, but the lack of social and health confidence has prevented many people from engaging in conversation with strangers despite their strong need for social interaction. The purpose of street performance is to capture the attention of a crowd and break down the barriers between individuals in order to create a social event in which people are involved, which is interesting, entertaining, which makes people think or discuss, laugh, express themselves... We wanted to create a training course to teach youth workers a combination of social theater activities and circus pedagogy applicable to the public space. The objective of our project was to teach youth workers the codes, methods and practices of street performance (theater and circus) as a tool for social engagement. The idea was that youth workers should be able to facilitate the creation of street events by the young people they work with, giving them the opportunity to express themselves, to create a dialogue with others, to recreate social links... The main objective of the learning mobility was to provide youth workers working for the consortium partners with an innovative methodology of social work: The street performance. The main objectives of the project were: - To develop partners' and participants' pedagogical skills in street events, project management and facilitation techniques to enable them to provide activities and programs that better meet the needs of individuals and the needs of disadvantaged people. The objective was to improve the personal skills of their target group in teamwork and cooperation, develop concentration and personal initiative, build self-confidence and provide a safe space for self-expression and debate. - To give participants the opportunity to exchange good practices on inclusion and diversity, thereby increasing the attractiveness and quality of their programs. - To provide participants with methods to enable their youth to actively participate in their own learning process. - Develop the creativity of participants and young people In line with the general objectives of the Erasmus+ program and the specific objectives of KA1. Our project addressed the following issues: - Quality and improvement of youth work. We wanted to bring pedagogical improvements to youth workers and their respective organizations, and greater recognition of youth work in general. - Inclusion and active participation in society. We wanted to directly or indirectly address issues such as improving the social skills of target groups, the health and well-being of young people, the active participation of young people, the promotion of mutual solidarity and the creativity of young people. - European cooperation and awareness raising.
