Various collaborations at the national and international level and mobility projects are of great importance in order for Savez Dodir to strengthen the competences and skills of its employees in all areas of activity, which directly affects the improvement of the availability and quality of existing educations for interpreters and intervenors for the deaf. Dodir Association, through the project activities of Work Monitoring and Teaching, wanted to improve the quality and availability of education for adult citizens in programs for interpreters and intervenors for the deaf-blind through direct strengthening of the competencies and skills of the educators who conduct the aforementioned educations, improvement of the associated curriculum, creation of online educations and improvement of self-assessment of knowledge of adult participants who complete the mentioned educations. We also wanted to promote international cooperation, social inclusion of people with disabilities and the importance of the aforementioned educations for adult participants.
Dodir Association has been investing in its educational programs and activities for many years and is recognized for providing training in Croatian sign language and training of interpreters for the deaf and deaf-blind. Considering the constant aspiration to invest in our employees and improve the quality of educational programs, we are continuously looking for partners with rich experience in the field of sign language training and training of translators for the deaf and deafblind. In these aspirations lies the idea of this project, with which we wanted, on the one hand, to gain more knowledge about the implementation of training for sign language interpreters through a partnership with Humak University, and on the other hand, to enable deaf people to strengthen their own capacities as independent instructors.
