We set 4 goals: 1 To increase creativity and learning by doing activities outdoors (outdoor learning), to centre activities around nature, ecology, and healthy lifestyle habits, to make a herb garden at school and teach pupils to take care of it. 2 To develop pupils’ fine motor skills and creativity in various aspects (in art, in using technical tools, artistic supplies, or digital tools), to conduct various creative workshops in which creativity and motor dexterity would be developed. 3. To strengthen pupils’ mental health and reduce the stress level and fear of failure at school, teach them to master techniques of personal development and self-confidence management. 4. To implement activities which would enable pupils to use ICT, web tools and computer programs more effectively, and teach them to use digital technology responsibly and creatively Additional goals -to experimentally organise a week of healthy breakfasts, aiming to raise awareness of healthy eating habits and health in general. -to make the school staff aware of the advantages and possibilities of involvement in Erasmus projects (possibility of solving a problem on a school level, local and European levels) and the importance of understanding the European context
After the coronavirus pandemic and distance learning, the self-evaluation findings from 2021, school doctors’ insights and school staff members’ opinions all pointed to the same – pupils’ addiction to mobile devices and social networks, and an increased number of obese children and those with spine problems or bad posture. Pupils participated reluctantly in outdoor activities, their motor and physical activities were reduced, they were clumsier, especially in the area of fine motor skills, and they lacked creativity in using digital technology. An increased number of anxious children who were afraid of failing at school and had no vision of the future was observed. There was an insufficient awareness of healthy lifestyle habits and healthy diets among pupils and a lack of care for the environment. That is why we aimed to acquire competencies that would incite changes in teachers’ and pupils’ attitudes regarding learning from nature and in nature, spending time outdoors while learning actively and collaboratively, developing healthy lifestyle habits, strengthening mental health (to create positive attitudes and strengthen self-control), responsible and creative use of digital technology, and finally, regarding creativity.
