Objectives

The main objectives of our project are to improve the quality and scope of education in our school, contributing to the well-being of both teachers and students. We aimed to focus on strengthening language competencies for better communication in the international European community, raising awareness about the importance of digital competencies for both students and teachers, and promoting literacy skills among students. Additionally, we seek to increase motivation and job satisfaction for teachers and instill the same in students through enriched extracurricular activities such as games, projects, and clubs. We foster intercultural awareness among students and teachers, elevating motivation for participation in EU programs. This enables higher quality school development in the sense of multiculturality which also satisfies the needs of foreign students. Through continuous improvement in the quality of education, we aim to sustain students' interest in school, develop skills for European social interaction and partnership, and stimulate curiosity about foreign cultures. All these activities are directed towards the sustainability of the student population and the development of skills beneficial in a European context.

Background

We are a city school with a long tradition, but due to our central location, we rapidly lose students. With this project, we aimed to enhance the visibility and status of the school both locally and internationally, intending to maintain the current number of students or attract new ones through the implementation of Erasmus projects, a broader range of extracurricular activities, and innovative approaches in teaching methods to improve the overall educational offering and ignite a greater desire for knowledge in our students. For teachers, our goal was to enable the acquisition of additional knowledge and skills in promoting literacy, using digital tools, and implementing innovative methods through participation in on-site seminars and workshops. With students, our objective was to awaken communication skills, improve interactions, and stimulate interest through a more extensive array of extracurricular activities, especially considering the consequences of the pandemic-induced period of student alienation and confinement. Improving the quality and breadth of education is our primary focus, including strengthening language and digital competencies, enhancing teacher motivation, and fostering students' intercultural awareness.
