Objectives

By implementing this project we wanted to empower teachers to engage into the process of better understanding the outdoor learning and learn how to design, plan and deliver inspirational and safe outdoor learning in our kindergarten. How to make positive impacts on children by implementing and planning inspirational outdoor learning activities which lead to increased wellbeing and mental health, intellectual development and physical health. Also we wanted to implement new ideas and approaches into our curriculum with the aim of improving the quality of our teaching and preschool education in our kindergarten. Our second goal was for teachers in language programs to improve and learn new methodologies, teaching techniques and approaches that they will use in their daily work, especially focusing on CLIL approach. We wanted to achieve for the teachers to gain creative ideas by using new and improved strategies in teaching but also to strengthen their IT skills and language competences which will in the end lead in children developing 21st Century skills that are much needed for life.

Background

We recognized the issues we are facing and detected the need for improvement in our kindergarten and the will to do so through lifelong learning and professional development of the teaching staff. We have emphasized on two major fields of the preschool education and focused on the outdoor learning and early foreign language learning in kindergarten. By improving communication competences, IT skills, cognitive culture and professional competences of the teaching staff we are constantly improving our curriculum and teaching methods. We are open for implementation of new ideas, teaching methods and approaches into our work because we believe that teaching and learning is a never-ending cycle and we are the ones who have to keep up with the times and the children who come to us. By constantly learning and improving we directly influence the quality of the entire system of early and preschool education and care in our kindergarten and in our City.
