Through the implementation of the project, the School wanted to achieve the development of teachers' key competences in order to effectively prepare students for the professions of salespersons and commercialists. The teaching process would improve if all teachers applied innovative teaching and evaluation methods, if they motivated students for independent work and research, and thus we would be closer to the educational outcomes envisaged by the curricular reform. We wanted to further improve the work of teachers with students with less opportunities, increase student motivation and reduce the number of early school leaving cases. Also, with the implementation of the project, we wanted to empower teachers for greater cooperation within the School, dissemination outside the School, greater motivation for advancement in the profession and for continuous training. In addition to all the above, we wanted to achieve international cooperation goals set in the development plan of the School.
Trgovačka škola in Zagreb has 605 students and 48 teachers and educates students in 3 majors: Commercialist, Salesperson and Salesperson: dual education model. It also offers 2 programs in adult education: Salesperson and further qualification Commercialist. The School applied for this project in order to offer teachers education in the field of developing key competences and skills, thus improving the work of the institution and the quality of its programs. 5 years before the implementation of this project, the teachers of the School faced many challenges, the most obvious was the need to modernize the teaching process and methodology of all subjects. This need became emphasised amid the transition to the online environment during the pandemic crisis. As many teachers are not able to follow education of 2 Croatian educational agencies due to the limited number of participants, we wanted to offer them education outside the borders of the institution. Also, the professional cooperation of teachers within the institution was deficient, and with this project, an attempt was made to encourage teachers to exchange ideas, solutions and materials in order for the School to progress in the direction of a modern education provider.
