There are three specific objectives of this project: 1. To raise the level of intercultural competencies of teachers, school counselors and school librarian and intercultural awareness of students; 2. To achieve successful inclusion process through the development of tolerance and a culture of dialogue, the prevention of peer violence and the promotion of diversity; 3. To offer to our students some innovative teaching methods and activities for the 21st century while encouraging creative expression through art and the development of digital competencies.
ES Pećine applied for the Erasmus+ project for the first time because it strongly recognized its value and importance. All the necessary preparations have been made (organizational analysis, European Development Plan, SWOT analysis), strategic objectives and school needs have been defined, the school staff has been rejuvenated and intrinsically motivated. The school does have considerable experience in international partnerships through the programmes of early English language learning and nurturing of Slovenian language, as a minority language (Model C learning). The teaching staff also possesses considerable work experience with SEN students, both within the regular school programme and through the collaboration with the Centre and the First Library for Visually Impaired Children. Threats to the long-term sustainability of the school have been identified and the objectives are aligned with the research of students’ and teachers’ opinions and self-assessment and general objectives of Erasmus+. The implementation of this project is a strong incentive for other teachers and similar organizations, which was confirmed by the final evaluations.
