By implementing the project, we wanted to digitize wine production process by creating a mobile app for entering and monitoring parameters during wine production and to raise the level of safety in the wine cellar. We also wanted students to become familiar with the characteristics and the production of sparkling wines and to start with production of sparkling wines at school and thus enhance the professional practice and expand school’s wine offer. Also, we wanted to achieve cooperation among students attending different vocational programs who otherwise don’t have a chance to cooperate. Likewise, we wanted students to develop language skills (EFL, Portuguese, Spanish) which are necessary for entering labor market.The implementation of project is also important because raising school’s digital level and participation in European projects are part of School’s Strategic Plan whereas strengthening competences in the field of winemaking is extremely important because of partnership with Agircultural and Forestry School Vinkovci.Also, projects like this strengthen school’s reputation and raise quality of lessons thus attracting new students which is a problem that school has been dealing with due to the decrease in number of students.
Context of the project is connected to the needs of Ilok High School. The students attending agricultural programs learn about the production of sparkling wines only theoretically from the subject „Winemaking“, and by doing the internship in Braga, they had a chance to familiarize themselves with the production of sparkling wines in practice, and to pass on knowledge to other students and make all the necessary arrangements for the production of sparkling wines in our school. Computer technicians don’t have professional practice in the mobile apps development, and by doing the internship in Granada, the students acquired necessary knowledge and skills to create their own mobile app which will digitize the process of wine production. After returning from mobilities, the students exchanged the acquired knowledge and worked together on the creation of mobile app which resulted in cooperation of all the vocational programs in school. Workshops about sparkling wines and the use of the mobile app were held for employees of the school, and they will also educate new students in the future. Likewise, strengthening of competences in the field of winemaking is important because of the project with Agricultural and Forestry School Vinkovci.
