Status M has a distinguished track record of over 13 years of dedicated work in the realm of youth engagement, with a special focus on young men, promoting gender equality and preventing violence. Our mission goes beyond direct engagement with youth; we also collaborate with professionals working in various youth-oriented environments, including youth clubs, schools, social service centers, and youth homes. With the implementation of this project, our overarching aim was to create a profound impact on multiple fronts: Empowering Young People as Allies: We sought to empower young individuals to become advocates and allies in the fight for gender justice. By equipping them with knowledge, skills, and awareness, we aimed to foster a generation that actively promotes and supports gender equality. Empowering Youth Workers: In parallel, we aimed to empower youth workers, providing them with tools, insights, and strategies to engage effectively with youth in different contexts. Our objective was to enable youth workers to be effective agents of change, capable of guiding young individuals towards a more equitable and just society. Sensitizing the Community and Raising Awareness: Beyond direct interactions, we recognized the importance of creating a ripple effect throughout the community. Our intention was to sensitize the wider community to issues of gender equality and social inclusion. We aimed to achieve this by conducting activities and campaigns that would raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and promote more inclusive attitudes. Specific Focus on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion: At the heart of our project's objectives was a specific emphasis on gender equality, gender justice, and social inclusion. We aimed to increase awareness among our users regarding these critical issues. To achieve this, our approach involved the identification and deconstruction of harmful social norms related to gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation. These norms have the potential to perpetuate social exclusion, particularly impacting young women and LGBTIQ+ youth. Promoting Dialogue, Cooperation, and Safe Learning Spaces: Through our project activities, we aspired to create an environment conducive to open dialogue and cooperation. We recognized the importance of establishing safe spaces for learning, where young people could freely express their thoughts, challenge existing norms, and grow as individuals. Our project sought to encourage healthy discussions that would promote mutual understanding and empathy among participants. Improving Mental Health and Healthy Lifestyles: One of our core goals was to contribute to the creation of healthy lifestyles for young people. We aimed to address not only the external factors related to gender and social inclusion but also the internal well-being of individuals. This involved working on strategies to enhance the mental health of young people, recognizing the interconnectedness of mental well-being with broader societal issues. Accreditation Objectives Achieved: The three primary objectives of our project accreditations were met effectively through its implementation: Youth as Allies in the Fight for Gender Equality: The project succeeded in empowering young individuals to become active allies in the ongoing battle for gender equality. It provided them with the tools and knowledge necessary to advocate for change. Empowered Youth Workers: The project offered youth workers the empowerment they needed to engage effectively with young people on gender equality and social inclusion, enabling them to be catalysts for positive change. Sensitization and Awareness Raising of the Community: Through its diverse activities and campaigns, the project created a heightened level of awareness in the community, challenging stereotypes and advocating for greater inclusivity. In summary, the objectives of the project were not only met but also exceeded, contributing significantly to the overarching mission of Status M: to create a more equitable, just, and inclusive society, one where young individuals and professionals alike actively participate in the transformation towards gender justice and social equality.
