Objectives

Our main goals was inclusion and green practice. Empowering young people with knowledge and involvement in sustainable development projects allows them to develop a deep understanding of environmental and social issues. Doing that, the project Erasmus+ “Greener Eu-Rope” had the objective to cultivate a generation of responsible leaders who are conscious of the challenges faced by our planet and are equipped to make informed decisions to tackle these challenges in the future; the project was especially aimed at young people with fewer opportunities from rural areas who had limited access to information about environmental protection. A survey conducted among young people from those areas revealed their interest in the topic of environmental protection, but also a lack of knowledge about sustainable development and nature protection. Our purpose was to engage young people in projects focused on sustainable development is of paramount importance for several reasons. The youth of today are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but they are also the ones who will inherit the consequences of the decisions we make regarding the environment and the planet's resources. For this and more reasons our goal was to educate young people about environmental protection; to connect young people from different countries to work together, to preserve the environment; involve them in active participation in the local community and also to develop key competencies for participation in democratic life. Young minds are often more open to innovation and creativity. By involving them in our project, we tap into their fresh perspectives and encourage them to come up with innovative solutions to environmental problems. These novel ideas can lead to breakthroughs and advancements that traditional approaches might not have envisioned.
