The primary objectives of the project were aimed at recognizing young people as human rights holders and supporting their fundamental role in building an inclusive and democratic society. The overarching goal was to address the insufficient support for young people in understanding and exercising their rights, especially during times of crisis, and in the context of popular culture. Specifically, the project aimed to achieve the following: Recognition of Young People as Human Rights Holders: The project sought to initiate a process of recognizing young people as human rights holders, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging their rights within the broader societal framework. Promotion of Human Rights Values in Youth Work: A key objective was to raise awareness, respect, and application of human rights values in the field of youth work and to adopt a human rights-based approach (HRBA) in this context. Empowering Youth Workers: The project aimed to provide youth workers with the necessary knowledge, tools, and resources essential for supporting young people in the process of claiming their rights. This involved capacity-building efforts in Human Rights Education (HRE) and Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA). Capacity Building for Youth Workers: A specific goal was to enhance the competences of youth workers, especially those with less experience in Human Rights Education and/or Human Rights-Based Approach, enabling them to plan, implement, and critically evaluate the impact of their actions in the realm of human rights education. Network Strengthening: The project sought to strengthen the network of advocates for youth rights, fostering collaboration and support among EU partner and program countries with a shared commitment to a human rights-based approach. International Cooperation: An additional goal was to facilitate and strengthen cooperation among partner organizations in the European Union and program countries, specifically in the field of a human rights-based approach. In summary, the objectives were aligned with the overarching vision of empowering young people, enhancing the capabilities of youth workers, and fostering a collaborative environment that recognizes and supports the human rights of young individuals in Europe. Through these objectives, the LEaF project aimed to contribute to the development of an informed, active, and empowered youth population that plays a fundamental role in shaping a democratic and inclusive society.
