Objectives

The implementation of the project "Kultura svima" aimed to address previously identified needs: 1) Youth engaged in previous projects expressed interest in practical knowledge about the participation of persons with disabilities (PWD) in cultural and social life. 2) Recognition of the reasons (conducting practical analysis) for the insufficient visibility of PWD due to the inadequacy of content and spaces in culture. 3) The need for stronger visibility of the needs of PWD, PWD themselves, and encouraging cultural stakeholders to adapt content and open their own content/spaces to everyone. The objectives of the project "Kultura svima" were directed towards addressing identified needs and contributing to the creation of a more inclusive society: - Education and empowerment of youth and relevant stakeholders: to educate young people, individuals working with youth, and decision-makers on the human rights of marginalized groups, especially PWD, increase awareness and understanding of the needs of PWD, and encourage inclusion and adaptation of programs and spaces to reduce segregation. - Encouraging the inclusion of PWD: By informing youth and relevant stakeholders about the possibilities of adapting programs and spaces for PWD, the project aimed to reduce exclusion and segregation and conduct practical research on the current situation. - Creating a campaign for an Inclusive Youth Council: to launch a campaign that would increase awareness of the exclusion of PWD and promote inclusion opportunities, while also raising support and understanding for inclusive practices. - Personal development of participants: Through participation in the project, young people and other participants had the opportunity for personal development, including acquiring new skills, understanding inclusivity, and building a local community that promotes inclusiveness. - Creating a local social footprint of inclusivity: After the project's completion, the implementation of education on content and space adaptation and showcasing examples of good practice was planned, aiming towards sustainability and continuing work towards achieving EU Youth Goals.
