Objectives

The goal of the project is to increase the equality and labor competitiveness of unemployed women and women who are changing careers by providing them new knowledge and skills about gender equality in the labor market. The goal of the project significantly contributes to the Strategy for Gender Equality 2020.-2025., and the promotion of equality between women and men as a task of the European Union in all its activities. Almost 30 women from Croatia were involved in the project, and 23 women from Italy who, after completing the education, gained knowledge that they did not have before the education, which helped them to be more competitive on the labor market.

Background

Motivation for the project is based on the partner's long-term work with adult women, helping them with everyday challenges in the business world. Zaposlena d.o.o. in 2014. designed and launched a project that help women through mentoring with the purpose of making it easier to overcome challenges in women's careers called "Mentoring as a form of networking among women". Mentoring of women also gave rise to the idea of the project because stereotypes were observed during the discussion, which confirm detected limiting factors of adult women in business takeoff. Also, Associazione Eurokom's analysis confirmed the need to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of adult women on this topic on the labor market and the need to develop an innovative program that would complement the adequate educational offer that would further empower adult women on the topic gender equality in the labor market because long-term bad effects on the labor market have been expressed and statistically confirmed when it comes to pay, promotion, social and other issues. EU data emphasize that only 67% of women are employed while 78% of men are, women in the EU earn 16% less per hour than men on average, and their pensions are 31% less.
