The objective of the institution was to improve the health of teachers and students, prevent (1) burnout syndrome and develop mental well-being, in order not to lead to negative attitudes and incompetence and to increase the efficiency of the school's operation. As part of this, it is important for us to learn an effective method of stress management, both individually and at the organizational level. One of the ways to deal with stress is to reduce the gap between teachers and students by modernizing teachers' tools (2) in accordance with the requirements of the age. We adapt the learning process (3) to individual needs, taking into account their emotional and multi-faceted intelligence and way of thinking according to the latest research.
Our school is a recognized child-centered Technical School in the southern region of Budapest, where we place great importance on the well-being and physical and mental development of our students. We are actively involved in the cultural life of the region with our well-known and respected folk dance and cheerleading groups. Our school has an increasing number of students who are difficult to motivate to learn and/or have learning difficulties, or come from a family background where learning is not valued and they do not know how to learn. In addition, our teaching staff is ageing and even our youngest teachers are over 40. The widening generation gap between students and teachers, overwork, lack of success, negative attitudes and emotional exhaustion threaten both students and teachers. In our school, we dedicate time in the 9th grade to learning to learn and developing competences. We know that in order to teach learning successfully, our teachers need to be aware of the latest research and digital techniques in this area, and they need mental refreshment, a toolkit to help teachers manage and prevent stress.
