The main aim of our project was to rebuild communities in our school, after nearly two years of community and values disintegration. To this end, we looked for methodologically and conceptually up-to-date tools by learning about the latest methods in communication, community psychology and pedagogy. The most serious consequences of the pandemic have been the loss of motivation, the disintegration of communities and the loss of the ability to listen to each other, with serious damage to children and teachers. Our aim was to find European models to help repair the damage. students are confronted more easily and more often in both virtual and real spaces. Controlling and reducing them required new methods in the form of more advanced digital and mediation skills. Our aim is to reduce student and teacher demotivation, stop drop-outs, talent stagnation, improve talent management and career guidance, increase further learning outcomes and success experiences. The aim was to create a motivating and supportive community. In addition to improving the climate, an important objective was to continue the internationalisation of our school, to develop the linguistic skills of our colleagues and develop their thinking as European citizens.
The Dunakeszi Széchenyi István Elementary School is a public educational institution under the Dunakeszi School District Centre. It provides public education for children aged 6-16 years within the framework of primary school education. Our school teaches and educates students in mathematics, informatics, foreign languages and general curriculum classes. The main educational focus is on the development of digital and foreign language competences, both for our students and our colleagues. At the same time, we place a high priority on teaching acceptance and support for each other, as students come from very different material and cultural backgrounds. Their motivation, support, abilities and potential are different, and the school places great emphasis on talent management and catching up. The real background to the project is the disunity, demotivation and moral decline caused by the pandemic. Stopping this and rebuilding the community, re-motivating students, thus improving academic and behavioural outcomes, reducing drop-outs and failures and improving academic performance is essential for the future of our school.
