Objectives

The primary objective of the project was to introduce the specifics of Italian cuisine, the specialties adapted to local preferences, and the rules of vocational training in the catering to practical instructors working in tourism and catering. We placed special emphasis on the practices implemented in restaurants and small farms for the sake of environmental protection and efficient energy use. A very important aspect is the high-quality satisfaction of the need for healthy food and special dietary habits, as well as getting to know the necessary ingredients. The participants can benefit from the experience gained through good practices in Italy and apply it to their work. This can help increase the motivation of young people by promoting the profession. By implementing the project, we also aimed to increase the participants' commitment to European values and culture, fostering the preservation of uniqueness and cooperation.

Background

The Somogy Chamber of Commerce and Industry operates as an economic self-government of enterprises. Its tasks include developing the competence of businesses, coordinating economic life, promoting community building, and providing consultation services. Through its official duties, it plays an important role in the functioning of the dual training system, including the registration, qualification, and supervision of practical training places, as well as the training of practical instructors. In the county of Somogy, tourism and related training are of outstanding importance, which is why a higher proportion of businesses participate in dual training. The primary target group of the project was the trainers of businesses operating in the hospitality industry, who serve as training sites.
