The overall aim of the project was to develop the students' different competences, provide them with up-to-date knowledge, give them lasting experiences and increase their value in the labour market. Our objectives were: - to give students practical work experience, to improve their existing professional skills and knowledge, and to learn new practices and concepts. - work experience motivates students to learn by giving them the opportunity to experience the benefits and necessity of both professional and foreign language skills. - develop their foreign language skills, as knowledge of at least one language is now essential, especially in their profession (tourism and hospitality) - learners who have been away from home for a long period of time should be accustomed to greater autonomy. We also wanted them to develop their personal competences and experience the importance of independent thinking, work-based learning and digital literacy - learn about other cultures and customs, broaden their world view, become more open and accepting - school curricula should follow the expectations, challenges and changes in the profession - build new international relationships for the long term
Located in the Selyp basin, on the border of the counties of Heves and Nógrád, our school is a vocational school with a history of more than 75 years. This is the second time we have participated in an Erasmus+ project thanks to a successful application. We wanted our students to gain practical experience in their profession in an international environment. In this way they will develop competences that will be essential for their future employment. By implementing this project, we will be able to provide our students with training in line with labour market requirements, which will increase their value when looking for a job. Thanks to the project, they will be able to adapt to changes and expectations, they will be able to shape their own destiny, they will be more responsible and aware. All these competences can be developed in a foreign language environment, which is a great advantage of this project. It is the experience of our school and of other schools in Heves County that mobility with work-based learning, both non-formal and informal, is the most effective, has the longest lasting impact, provides professional development opportunities for those who go directly,a lasting experience and increases the motivation of them.
