With the project, our main goal was to help the mobility of our students taking part in vocational training; to broaden the possibilities of their professional practice, to develop the language, professional and communication skills of the participants in a multicultural environment; getting them to know good international practices; become familiar with the education system and methods of another country, as well improve the employee skills of the beneficiaries. We considered the cognition of innovative activities, gathering international experience and their implementation in our education important. Furthermore, we bore in mind the improvement of digital skills and competencies of our colleagues and students. Finally, integrating outdoor learning activities into formal education was also our primary aim.
VIK Vocational Institute and Secondary Grammar School was founded in 1996, its maintainer is the Hungarian Baptist Aid. There are 701 students who attend the school, taking part in secondary grammar school and tourism-catering, respectively hairdressing courses, as well as two-year hairdresser training courses based on graduation. Vocational school students can also obtain a general education certificate in two years. Our school has taken part in Leonardo da Vinci, later called Erasmus mobility applications of Tempus Public Foundation since 1999. The programme provides tremendous chances for our students to improve both their professional and language skills, but staying abroad for almost half a year has several other positive increments. Participating in the project provides very useful professional experience and practice in international environment. Most of our partners can receive trainees in the field of catering, so all our students did their five-month professional practice abroad working as waiters. Meeting the requirements of employee mobility concerned 56 people in our school. Finally, based on preliminary surveys, we applied for the mobility trips of 15 colleagues.
