The student completes a 4-week internship at the Dar Saura Retirement Home based in Rabat, Malta During the internship, the student regularly participates in the work processes, performing the tasks according to the instructions of the mentor. The student works according to the rules and regulations in force at the institution. Participates in all activities of the host organization in accordance with its input competencies. While the student is spending their internship at the host organization, a designated mentor will support the student. One of the aims of the internship is to support the learner in carrying out an activity in a real environment that is appropriate for their profession. To this end, in accordance with the specificities of the host organization, the learner is provided with a comprehensive picture of all work processes affecting his or her profession. The internship focuses on the development of knowledge, skills and competencies that ensure the achievement of the following learning outcomes: It is able to serve the basic needs of the patients in a nursing home.
