Objectives

The Covid 19 pandemic therefore posed enormous challenges to both the hospitality sector and hospitality vocational training. Our primary goal is to cooperate with our foreign partners to offer our students a professional practice opportunity that develops knowledge, skills and abilities, which enables them to assert themselves in the profession. With this accordingly, our essential objective is to reduce school dropouts. Mitigating the harmful effects of catering on the environment is also an important task, which is why we strive to make sure that our students in the catering vocational training get to know the principles of sustainability and CSR as part of a professional internship abroad with the members of a market-leading, international luxury category hotel chain, so that by acquiring new knowledge and skills, they will appear with better opportunities in the future on the domestic and international labor market. The above objectives are in line with the development of two priority areas on which our school focuses. One is the development of foreign language skills, which are now indispensable for the hospitality profession, and the other is helping the integration of disadvantaged students.

Background

Since 1998, our school has been providing vocational training related to the hospitality/tourism professional group in Budapest's 3rd district, Békásmegyer. The year 2016 brought a major change in the life of the institution, when the maintenance of the school was taken over by the Hungarian Charity Service of Malta. We provide up-to-date, competitive knowledge to both those who intend to continue their education and to our students who wish to find a job in the hospitality industry, we try to guarantee quality with our dynamic development. We start "cook" and "social care and nursing" classes every year, and from 2019 we also successfully launched our "confectioner" course. The professional practical subjects are carried out within the school as well as at external economic organizations. Our goal is to continuously expand the school's network of international contacts, as well as to build a vocational training institution that keeps up with the expectations of the times, along with new principles and methods. In addition to introducing the methods and tools of sustainability, since 2020 the aim has also been to restore our students' faith in the profession and to prepare them for the expectations caused by the pandemic.
