Objectives

The Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, recognising the key role of internationalisation, carries out a number of cross-border activities. For years, it has been a priority to expand its relations with European and non-European countries, to strengthen cooperation with foreign universities and to join scholarship programmes supported by the state. With partner institutions abroad in almost all Erasmus+ programme countries, MATE students and staff are able to acquire and pass on knowledge that meets the requirements of a globalised world. One of the pillars of MATE's internationalisation strategy is the principles and priorities set out in the Erasmus+ programme, as announced by the European Commission. Our University, by taking advantage of the mobility opportunities provided by the programme, seeks to contribute to high employment and productivity in the EU Member States, to the peaceful coexistence of cultures, and to social cohesion. In line with the government's vision, MATE aims to become a centre for agriculture in Central and Eastern Europe, recognised in international agricultural research and to make graduates' degrees competitive in the European and global labour market.
