Objectives

Kállósemjén is part of the Nagykálló municipality, with approximately 3,500 residents. It is a disadvantaged community. There are 4-5 small farms around it. There are no entertainment options, no cinema, theatre, or other sports facilities. It has one primary school. Many people are unemployed or engaged in public works. Several families receive regular child protection benefits. Our association was founded in January 2014 on the initiative of 10 parents. Our activities aim to promote meaningful leisure time and develop competencies (logical thinking, problem solving, language and foreign language communication, social skills, conflict resolution skills, and cooperation) essential in the world of work. We have a wide range of national and international partnerships. We are an accredited Excellent National and International Talent Center. We are an accredited Youth Organization, accredited Adult Education Organization, Quality Certified Volunteer Sending and Hosting Organization, and an accredited Rehabilitation Organization. All of this helps our students and young people collaborate with similar national and international organizations, participate in international competitions, and gain international experience. Our students achieve outstanding results in national and international competitions. We have numerous gold, silver, and bronze medalists in the National Student Intellectual Sports Competitions. Computer Science is another area of excellence where our students rank in the top three in the Nemes Tihamér and OKTV competitions. In robotics, our junior team won a national final and represented our country in Thailand, and our team also achieved first place in the youngest age group. In addition to the results, the most important contribution of the association to the community is organizing programs that bring together three generations. During the summer holidays, we organize camps throughout the summer, providing hot meals, thematic programs, and excursions for children, contributing to their skill and competence development through non-formal methods. Throughout the year, we offer young people the opportunity to complete 50 hours of community service with us. We are an Erasmus+ accredited organization in the youth field. We employ various methods to encourage young people to return to us and organize community life for their peers. We try to involve them in youth exchanges, and study trips, and support their initiatives. Several young people mentor others in our association, assisting them in working with younger individuals. For the third year in a row, our high school and university youth returned to us as an informal group and carried out youth exchanges, youth worker training, and solidarity projects in the municipality. This is our greatest joy – that we have managed to retain the young people. They come back and give back what they received from the association in the past. They have also run a youth council for a year and are actively involved in the daily life of the local community. We strive to engage young people as actively as possible in sports and leisure activities, so we offer archery, cycling, kin-ball sports, and dance facilities for young people. Another milestone for the association is our ability to employ people with disabilities, thus contributing to sensitizing our students to the acceptance of differences. There is an excellent relationship between young people and the staff, and we spend a lot of time together in various craft activities and cooking workshops. Nowadays, the target groups of our services have expanded, and we organize non-formal training and joint events from the age of 6 up to pensioners. We aim to broaden the horizons of underprivileged youth, which is why it's essential for us that they get acquainted with the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program. To reduce their disadvantages, they need to grow up with us and through Erasmus, experiencing all its benefits firsthand. We strive to involve not only the young people but also their families in local programs so that they can learn about the program's details, understand its advantages, and responsibilities, and over the years, be inspired to participate in it. The focal point of this year has been the development of emotional intelligence among our youth, recognizing and reinforcing the character-building effects of the community. This way, our less privileged youth feel our support, and once they become part of a great community, they don't want to let go. We aim to nurture their resilience and life skills. This year, the municipality and the village council praised our activities and awarded us the "Educational and Cultural Award" in recognition of our work for the municipality.
