With our current project we have several ties to the Hungarian youth exchanges from july 2022. Our partner was Beit Ha’gefen operating in Haifa, we already had several sucessful projects with them in the past. Our main goals for the youngsters connected to this project in Izrael, could participate in our non formal education process about, becoming an active self conscious citizen, improvement of critical thinking, and lowering biases and racism. Izrael is a multicultural country, where arabic, catholic, and jewish religion are mixed together, but this ethnic coexistence are not without its own difficulties. Our partner is working on making the arabic and jewish coexistence stronger, introducing the cultural and religional differences and teaching acceptance for more than 10 years now. In our project it was very important for us that the youngsters are learning from each other, helping one and other to understand and know a culture better, to avoid conflict situations based on ignorance, because of this the participants did several tasks to introduce their own culture. Another important goal for us was to strengthen the bond with our local partners aside from our main partner. The good partnership with the schools of the city was reinforced by this exchange too, because the participants were from several different local schools, whom could use the results of the exchange to make improvements in their community. We negotiated with the school leadership in every case about the theme, duration, and possible effects and how to integrate - promote this project in their own community. Also very important for us was to improve communication and language skills, which was achieved by speaking english as a common language by all participants in this project.
