Promoting gender equality

Objectives

The primary goal of implementing Project IOGGA 2nd Edition - Inside Out: Growing Gender Awareness was to promote gender equality and increase gender awareness among youth workers, youth leaders, teachers, and other social actors in Europe and third countries. The specific objectives of the project were: Create optimal conditions for mutual understanding. Analyze the phenomenon of gender equality in local communities of the participants compared to the European level. Enhance the capacity for reflection in the social environment of the participants. Increase sensitivity in the psychological aspect. Reflect on personal stories and stereotypes in social environments. Establish a foundation for a better understanding of educational consequences. Provide educational insights into practical tools and proactive methods, as well as the exchange of good practices using non-formal education methods. Set the groundwork for better interventions at the local and international levels. Equip participants with the necessary tools to design gender-equality-related Erasmus+ programs. Foster increased international cooperation, networking, and advocacy. These objectives were designed to contribute to the overarching aim of reducing gender stereotypes and promoting gender equality in line with EU values and objectives, as well as addressing the cultural biases and structural issues that contribute to gender inequalities in society. The core activity of the project was the implementation of a 7-day training course held from May 21st to May 27th, 2023. This initiative engaged 28 participants along with 2 facilitators from seven distinct countries: 6 from Albania, 3 from Azerbaijan, 3 from Estonia, 5 from Italy, 2 from the State of Palestine, 3 from Spain, and 6 from Hungary. Subsequently, these participants, totalling 182 individuals, actively integrated the principles of gender equality from the course into their local initiatives. Each partner organization extended support to participants by documenting and disseminating the outcomes of their activities, sharing visuals and descriptions on their social media platforms, and cross-promoting on the project's Facebook page. Notably, the IOGGA project's Facebook page experienced substantial traction during the period from May 1st to August 31st, 2023 (The platform Facebook Page Manager allows analysis max 4 months at the time, which is why the period taken in consideration is shortened than the all duration of the project), reaching 2474 individuals with 1567 visits and garnering 67 new likes. As of November 2023, the page maintains a total of 151 likes and has attracted 170 followers.
