Objectives

The "Facilitate Growth!" project was a comprehensive 7-day training course (plus 2 travel days) held in Szeged, Hungary from April 28th- May 6th, 2024. The initiative brought together 29 participants from 9 countries, primarily targeting youth workers who were either new to facilitation or looking to enhance their existing skills. The project maintained a strong emphasis on inclusivity, ensuring gender balance and the participation of individuals with fewer opportunities. The project was structured in three main phases: a preparatory phase featuring a one-day activity and information package distribution; the core 7-day training course utilizing non-formal education methods; and a follow-up phase focused on evaluation and dissemination activities. During the training, participants developed crucial facilitation skills including workshop organization, effective communication, problem-solving techniques, and the use of visualization and ICT tools. Key objectives included enhancing participants' facilitation competencies, creating a comprehensive manual for future reference, and ensuring effective knowledge transfer through various dissemination activities. The project successfully delivered its intended outcomes, producing competent youth workers with improved facilitation skills who went on to conduct national workshops in their home countries. The creation and distribution of a practical manual further supported the project's long-term impact on improving the quality and effectiveness of youth work across participating countries.
