OUR PROJECT JUSTIFICATION Our project, starting from the preparation process, covered the theoretical knowledge and practical applications implemented as a result of the coordinated research of the participants. Our project contributed to raising awareness on our participants, target group, partner organizations and stakeholders, and supported the continuation of this awareness with sustainability studies. During our project, the necessary emphasis was placed on the importance of seriously investigating this situation, conducting risk analyzes, developing harm reduction policies as a result of these risk analyzes, acting together with individuals and institutions from all segments of society and decision makers. In this context, research studies including the details, reasons and results of this situation, which is the subject of our project, have been carried out. As a result of the research studies, it was revealed that the low water levels frequently seen in the rivers according to the drought data in Europe put the water resources of the continent in a difficult situation. It was also found that on June 1, the results were 4.5%, and a month later the level decreased by 10.8%. Measurements taken about four months later on 20 October showed that approximately 35.9% of Europe's rivers were at abnormally low levels. With the effect of global warming, the amount of precipitation decreased in summer and winter, and as a result, the main water systems were deprived of the water they needed. Repeated heat waves also accelerated evaporation and caused more water loss. According to data from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), drought has increased in most of Central Europe in recent years. According to the Copernicus Emergency Management Service, drought continued through June in many areas, making it the third year in a row that unexpectedly dry weather has been seen. In addition to natural causes, human causes have also accelerated the process of decreasing water resources. The decrease in water resources has faced many serious problems in terms of quantity, quality and all other sectoral uses. In addition to the unconscious consumption of water and soil resources, the pollution that occurs in the consumption process and the strain on their carrying capacity prevent the sustainability of these resources and create negative consequences on the eco-system. In this direction, our goals met with our project, which was implemented to raise awareness about the decrease in water resources and the emergence of drought: -Contributed to raising awareness of the society on the subject. - Awareness has been created on the need to expand preventive activities in order to reduce water resources. - Emphasis was placed on the visibility of the factors causing drought. - By conducting risk analysis on the factors that reduce risky water resources, it contributed to the target group's production of harm reduction policies. It was emphasized that individuals should review their lifestyles taking this into account and act sparingly in water consumption by reducing their water footprints. - It has been mentioned that incentives should be increased for young people to be involved in youth worker mobility and to produce policies regarding global problems. - It was ensured that young people develop their individual competencies and gain awareness of anti-discrimination and act around a common goal with different cultures. - The dissemination of volunteer activities was supported. - Contributed to the awareness of the main targets and priorities of the Erasmus Plus Programs and the opportunities they provide to young people. In addition to these, we also have the connection of our project with the main goals and priorities of the Erasmus Plus Programs and the goals reached in line with this connection. These goals are: The Digital Transformation priority of the Erasmus+ Program was carried out thanks to the digital tools used from the planning of our project to its conclusion. Living in a digital age has made it necessary to increase competencies for this situation. The intensive use of digital tools in all the studies carried out in our project also contributed to the increase of the digital competence of the participants. Participants were informed about the Erasmus+ program, and they contributed to the development of their individual skills with non-formal learning methods. The active use of digital tools throughout the project contributed to increasing competencies in this field. At the same time, cultural activities were organized to contribute to the increase of cultural interaction of the participants and to raise awareness about the destruction of prejudices against different cultures.
