Objectives

The COVID epidemic has highlighted many challenges that need to be solved. The young people's living space was severely limited both at school and in their free time, so they had to be without personal relationships for a long time. In this period, communication was limited to the online space, so the previously more reserved young people faced an even greater obstacle. The confinement caused by the pandemic left a deep mark on the students, the exact effect of which is still being researched. On the other hand, it can be said with certainty that professionals dealing with young people also faced challenges that they had not encountered before. The rise of digital communication has grown rapidly in the last decade, but the lockdown caused by COVID has accelerated this significantly. As with all pandemics, the main mental consequences of the unpredictability, uncertainty, and forced restrictions required by the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic are: chronic stress, anxiety, fear of infection, depression, sleep disorders. The risk of someone turning to mind-altering drugs and alcohol increases, so mental well-being and prevention play an important role among young people as well. The general goal of the project is for the participating professionals and youth workers to be able to help young people in their self-awareness work, to strengthen their ability to cope, to not lose their confidence in an unexpected situation, to be able to deal with crisis situations or to recognize when they have to ask for help. In the course of the project, the participants can get to know self-knowledge methods that they can apply and incorporate into their toolkit either in club sessions or in an intensive camp. During the training, the participants can learn experiential pedagogic methods from the trainers and from each other. Conscious self-image and adequate self-knowledge play an important role in the ability to cope, so through the methodologies learned during the project, the participants will be able to apply and incorporate what they have learned in their own organization and community. During the learning of self-awareness methods, the self-awareness of the participants also develops, since they acquire group leadership skills in this direction based on their own experience. In order to develop a conscious way of life, adequate self-knowledge is necessary, which needs to be discovered as early as possible. The reason for this is that it is necessary to get to know a realistic self-image, whether in relational issues, career guidance or other social relationships, so that young people know what they are capable of and how they can develop in which areas, since the LLL and LLG processes also show that the workforce continuous renewal is also necessary in the market. The practices that the participating professionals learned during the project help the development of youth work, a broader view of the youth profession, and help professionals look at young people in a complex way. Professionals dealing with young people have to keep up with the new expectations brought by the changing world, so the participating professionals developed by learning about new methods and creating a professional network. In the course of our project, the participating youth workers and social workers got to know community development practices and methods, which they learned through their own experiential learning, experiential pedagogy training and learning about good practices. Our goal was to provide young professionals with new, innovative methods, moving out of their own comfort zone. During the training, interactive sessions were built on top of each other, where only the game itself and the experience were visible on the surface. Thus, during the exercises, the participants almost imperceptibly mastered the ability to develop and implement goals, the rules of cooperation with each other, group members, and others, and the basics of successful communication.
