The main objective of the project was to improve the quality of work done by youth workers in three disadvantaged settlements in Tiszalúc, Székelyszentmihály and Székelykeresztúr by developing their professional competences. In the project, during our two vocational training sessions, we put special emphasis on the environment, sustainability and digitalisation. By addressing these topics, we aimed on the one hand to provide youth workers with a method that they could use in their everyday work for young people and to integrate them into the training courses that we organised for them. On the other hand, our aim is to develop green youth work, where the person in charge can lead a more environmentally aware lifestyle in the future, introduce environmentally friendly good practices within their organisation and make young people's lifestyles greener. In addition, we trained smart youth workers, whose digital competence was to be developed, with the aim of reducing the digital divide between young people and youth workers. The aim of our project was also to use the methodology and the research carried out in disadvantaged municipalities in the region of these municipalities to produce an electronic publication containing experiences and knowledge that youth workers could use to keep young people in their municipalities, thus slowing down the decline in population.
