Objectives

Through Erasmus+ KA171, ELTE builds sustainable, mutually beneficial, long-term strategic partnerships. The additional 20% KA131 funding has eased planning and partnership building, but limited resources and program instability continue to threaten cooperation. While ELTE’s Internationalization Strategy sets broad goals, the 2022–2025 KA171 project follows a bottom-up model shaped by faculty applications and National Agency allocations across regions. This model has enabled ELTE to establish a broad international network, strengthening its role within Hungarian and Central European higher education and positioning it as a regional representative. Beyond traditional European ties, ELTE is expanding partnerships in the Balkans, the Far East, Africa, and the Americas, while maintaining strong cooperation with Hungarian HEIs in neighbouring countries. KA171 projects support internationalization by enabling staff and student mobility that foster professional development, academic excellence, and institutional reputation. Incoming mobilities diversify the university and bring fresh perspectives. ELTE promotes mobility, ensures credit recognition, supports blended formats, and works toward full digitalization of Erasmus+ administration.
