Background and objectives The project aimed to strengthen the University of Debrecen’s internationalisation strategy by combining the continuation of long-standing partnerships with the exploration of new opportunities. Building on earlier successful collaborations with Egypt, Transcarpathia (Ukraine) and Albania, the project sought to provide further mobility opportunities for students and staff, deepening academic and cultural ties in these regions. At the same time, it focused on expanding cooperation in less explored areas, in particular Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, where mobility can bring significant added value for both partners and participants. The overall objectives were to foster academic excellence, support intercultural understanding, and increase the international visibility of the university. By facilitating credit-bearing student exchanges and staff teaching and training mobilities, the project aimed to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices, enhance research cooperation, and contribute to building a truly global academic network. Special emphasis was placed on inclusion, sustainability and digitalisation, aligning the project with key Erasmus+ priorities.
