The main objective of the project was to establish an international cross-border partnership to support the labour market and social reintegration of addicts, to launch methodological developments related to the topic, to integrate them into the professional practice of the organisation and to broaden the possibilities of support work with this target group. A strong emphasis was placed on enhancing the labour market competences of addicts, which in fact also means the development and enhancement of transversal and life skills. The project was implemented through the synergy of the methodology of support work and adult education. In addition to the immediate target group, it was aimed at developing the professional/individual competences of the professionals involved, implementing a strategic partnership, expanding and developing the professional areas of the organisations in partnership, maturing the development of long-term international relations, and implementing cross-border partnerships and networking. All these activities have certainly increased the management capacity of the organisations (international project implementation), which can have a positive impact on the organisational culture and the organisation.
The project has explored the expansion of professional and methodological possibilities to support the social and labour market integration of addicts, by developing and expanding the competences of primary (addicts) and secondary (professionals working with them). New possibilities and innovations in educational and supportive work with the target group were explored, which created opportunities to support the professional/individual development of professionals and also provided the basis for the development of new projects. The focus has been on expanding the methodological repertoire; and preventing burn-out of professionals, thus improving care for the primary target group, i.e. increasing their chances. In addition to the traditional methods used in addiction care (individual and group support), the project aimed to develop and apply new methods (story therapy, Portage method, family and couple therapy, development work to promote reintegration into the labour market) to improve the effectiveness of support work with the primary target group.
