Objectives

The primary objective was to develop a resource for teachers that enhances their psychological and methodological expertise. This aid aims to address students' deficiencies in social skills and effectively develop their key competencies, ultimately improving their life success and employability. Additionally, we aimed to positively influence the digital skills and attitudes towards digital learning materials of all participants through the created product. Another priority was to foster flexibility and resilience in both teachers and students, preparing them for the rapid changes anticipated in information and communication technology. While AI currently falls short in areas such as creativity and interpersonal skills, our project focused on these crucial aspects, too. We also aimed to create content that is visually appealing, easy to understand, accessible, and engaging for young people. The online space was deemed the most suitable platform, and Moodle LMS emerged as the most modern and cost-effective solution.

Background

Numerous studies and HR leaders affirm that certain soft skills are essential for success in life and maintaining functional human relationships in today's world. At the outset of our project, the literature identified the 10 most crucial skills as: communication, motivation, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, problem solving, decision-making, time management, flexibility, and conflict management. Despite new labor market trends highlighting the growing importance of these skills, our daily mental health and educational activities reveal that students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds with unstable family situations, often have underdeveloped social skills. The rise in physical abuse and bullying, along with feedback from workplaces and teachers, underscores a deficiency in essential social skills such as empathy, communication, conflict management, and stress management. Unfortunately, we lack sufficient contemporary knowledge and resources to effectively support the development of these skills in students. This project aims to address this gap by leveraging the potential of digital technologies.
