The challenges of recent years (partly due to COVID-19) require solutions that help both students and their teachers in the learning/teaching process. Based on previous surveys, we planned to create video teaching materials to complement our existing written materials, which would be available free of charge to anyone interested, even for individuals without background knowledge or for independent learning purposes. The video teaching materials enable a more modern, user-friendly implementation, contribute to LLL, primarily the education of students, and indirectly their choices of career and further education. With the help of the videos, we planned to create thematic extracurricular activities in partner institutions that could provide students with more practical activities than before, which could potentially be used as good practice by other institutions. With the help of digital platforms and dissemination events, we planned to reach as many interested institutions, educators, and students as possible in order to make our teaching materials widely known and used by an even wider audience. Our international multiplier events also served these goals, expanding the circle of those interested in using the English materials.
Based on the results of preliminary needs assessments, the main motivation and goal of our projects was to create a free video-format teaching materials in English and Hungarian that teach relevant topics from the basics, thereby helping students choose their career paths and supplementing the compulsory subjects in public education. Our current project relied heavily on our previous projects where we created written-format teaching materials, which enabled us to produce video materials and organize study groups that fit into the digital environment, reaching an even more diverse and wider audience, providing relevant professional knowledge to students. Although similar written materials exist, they often require a subscription and offer fewer practical exercises. We did not find sufficiently detailed, free video teaching materials in this field, so the creation of the videos was essential. Ensuring high-quality, inclusive education for students is a priority across all EU member states, therefore we considered communication and collaboration with international partners essential, as our dissemination activities also targeted foreign students who could benefit from our video-based teaching materials.
