Objectives

1. The desired outcome of the project was youth policy which is sensitive to the needs and aspirations of young people from seldom heard backgrounds. Better policy will directly benefit the lives of all young people. A new well being pack has been developed and designed in conjunction with Dr Leighann Ryan Culleton from Wrexham Glyndŵr University and the findings of the Youth Panel. New research indicates that youth work builds “meaning and connection” for our young people. 2. The project activities have supported participants to develop new social connections and supports through their engagement by youth workers and group activities with peers and in this way has brought about greater social inclusion. 3. Young people in the leading group have exercised and developed a knowledge of their political rights while gaining greater knowledge of their social rights through participating in four youth policy consultations. 4. Young people had lots of fun, gained new experiences, learned new skills and enjoyed themselves with their peers.
