The core objectives were to be linked to the development of Youth Workers, Tutors and those working with young people - To harness quality and innovative expertise in non formal education methods for those working with young people, To foster inclusion of hard to reach young people, minority groups and disadvantaged youth (socio depravation, NEETS, disability and early school leavers) We planned to do this carrying out Study visits in Spain and Ireland to understand each partners work and expertise and together and to further develop and implement a high quality, relevant training module targeted at Facilitators, Tutors and Youth Workers who use Music, Drama and Arts in their work with young people by using newly learned non formal methodologies through Music and Drama.
Our motivation had 2 priorities, firstly to enhance the expertise of the Youth Work / Tutor / Facilitators working with young people and secondly to gain confidence to develop a mobility activity that gives young people who would not normally have an opportunity to participate be part of this thematic inclusive project in a youth exchange. In committing to spending a year working together, the partners agreed on a theme for the work with young people on Arts and Environment, which we hoped to realise fully following a period of learning, sharing, practicing and collaborating for a new project under the parameters of KA1 and KA2. Our experiences to date working with these young people offered us an opportunity to collaborate with partners with similar interests and experiences to innovate and bring together learning opportunities for these young people that contribute to learning / development and enhanced lives The project addresses sensitively and appropriately most of these needs through the practice of the partners and their organisations.
