Objectives

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) University of Medicine and Health Sciences is an independent, not-for-profit private University, focused on education and research in the field of health sciences. RCSI has an international outlook, with four overseas campuses and a diverse student body, comprising 67% international students and alumni from 96 countries around the world. The Erasmus+ Programme plays a pivotal role in fulfilling RCSI's mission and advancing its internationalisation objectives. It facilitates the transnational mobility of students and staff, enabling educational and training opportunities, and fostering strategic partnerships with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Programme Countries. Internationalisation is at the core of RCSI, and we are driven to increase cooperation and partnerships in Europe. RCSI joined the European University Alliance in Global Health (EUGLOH) as Associate Partners, increasing partnerships and mobility opportunities for staff and students within the Alliance and Europe. The implementation of the Erasmus+ KA131 Programme provides the opportunity to both staff and students to expand their reach and experience in Europe, fulfilling professional development, institutional and European goals. This project enables RCSI to contribute to the European education and research areas, enhance the quality of its higher education, research and services programmes, increase the breadth of students’ opportunities and experiences and support the professional development of our staff, while respecting the principles of non-discrimination, transparency and inclusion, with due consideration to environmentally friendly practices.
