The main aim of the Erasmus+ KA171 project at DCU was to advance the university’s internationalisation goals through high-quality academic and intercultural exchanges with selected partner countries outside the EU, aligned with DCU's goals of its Strategic Plan (2017–2022), "Talent, Discovery and Transformation", and its the ambition “to develop a global university". The project specifically sought to: Deepen institutional partnerships with strategically relevant higher education institutions across Asia (Thailand, China, Pakistan), Sub-Saharan Africa (Sierra Leone, Ghana, Zimbabwe), and Latin America (Argentina, Brazil); foster meaningful mobility opportunities for both students and staff, supporting personal development, academic collaboration, and global engagement for participants from both DCU and partner institutions; promote inclusion, diversity, and equitable access by implementing policies that actively support participation of individuals with fewer opportunities; support curricular innovation and capacity-building through staff training, joint research, recognition of academic credits, best-practice sharing; and enhance long-term sustainable cooperation through projects and research networks.
