The main objective of the job shadowing project was to gain insight, share experience and get inspiration to increase non sedentary active learning activities for our students. Other objective was to get to learn colleages in the hosting school with future cooperation in mind.
The main emphasis of the education programmes of the school are natural sciences and languages. There are two main programmes that pupils can choose in their first year, natural sciences and languages. The natural science line devides into two biology directed programmes and two physics directed programmes. The language program divides into two lines with emphasis on modern languages on the one hand and ancient languages on the other. The school is a traditional class based grammar school with emphasis on academic preparation. However, the school is special and otherwise than most other upper secondary schools, offering regular practical excersises in biology, physics and chemistry, which are built in the pupils' schedule. The school is a health promoting school. The project had a strong context with the biology study programmes of the school and its role a a health promoting school.
