Contributing to Internationalization of VET education at the Agricultural University of Iceland
The AXIS project, coordinated by the Agricultural University of Iceland, aimed to enhance vocational education and training (VET) in agriculture by providing students with valuable international work placement opportunities. Within the training program student have to conduct a 12-week work placement. With the project we want to put an emphasis on gaining international experience. To support this, teachers and supervisors also participated in the program, accompanying and mentoring students throughout their placements. As part of the training program, students were encouraged to complete at least 3 weeks of their work placement in either Norway or Denmark. This international experience was designed to broaden their practical skills, expose them to different agricultural practices, and enhance their professional development. The AXIS project successfully facilitated these placements, contributing to the students' overall training and the internationalization of VET education at the Agricultural University of Iceland.
