Through the KA171 project, the Agricultural University of Iceland aimed to strengthen its international profile and implement its internationalization strategy. The project created opportunities for student and staff mobility beyond Europe, especially with developing countries, supporting AUI’s role as a globally engaged higher education institution. By fostering academic exchange, joint supervision, and intercultural learning, the project enhanced the quality of education and research, increased professional development for staff, and broadened students’ global perspectives. Overall, the project contributed to AUI’s vision of becoming an internationally recognized, multilingual, and networked university, while ensuring that internationalization benefits the entire academic community and addresses global challenges in agriculture, sustainability, and rural development.
