Objectives

We wanted to achieve several objectives by implementing the project. Firstly, we aimed to produce educational material consisting of quality educational videos supplemented by quizzes. The content was designed to teach the younger generation about the ecological footprint and foodprint in food production. The material was intended not only to raise awareness but also to educate in a way that encourages changes in behavior patterns that can reduce carbon emissions by planting the seeds of knowledge necessary to invoke actual change. Secondly, we wanted to give teachers access to quality material to use in their teaching, whether in the classroom, through flipped teaching, or online learning. This was done through a web page hosting the educational videos, short quizzes, and a short guide for teacher

Background

We applied for the project to address the knowledge gap among the younger generation about where the things they eat and use come from. The consumerism habits and lack of knowledge had created a lack of worth for these products among today’s generation, leading to an increase in waste generation and a throw-away culture, which affected our environment. The project aimed to teach the younger generation about the ecological footprint and foodprint through videos and digital learning, making them active, responsible, and aware of the impact on our society
