Our main objectives were for youths to become comfortable expressing themselves via creative writing, raise their employability skills, and give them experience working on international teams with people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We wanted the partner organizations to gain confidence running international online trainings and learn to better cooperate. In addition we aimed at making youth work more digital and reach into spaces that today’s young generations are more familiar with.
We applied for this project in order to develop the three partner organizations in a way that lets them become better at training young people in the creative writing process of role-playing adventures. All three partners have used role-playing extensively in youth work in order to train a number of important skills. However, helping young people transition from consumers of these game to creators is an important step in improving the variety, the choice for available scenarios and the possibility for customization of games that are useful for a specific training situation. On top of this organizational development we wanted to meet the needs of a number of young people interested in progressing with their skills in this area.
